Pep Mayol is a fisherman based at Port de Sóller on Mallorca’s north coast. He fishes from a small boat using traditional, sustainable methods. This summer he is set to star in a short film, Gori y Ondine, produced by Boat Radio as a means of promoting marine conservation in the Balearic Islands.
The film tells the story of the love between a young fisherman, Gori – played by Pep’s real life son – and Ondine, a mermaid who lives in the Cala de Sa Calobra. Shooting is due to take place in early June. Please look out for the film on social media and share it if you can.
