Ocean Research Project

5. Matt reports from a rough shelter in a disused Inuit encampment on the shore of a bay north of the 77th parallel.
Captain Matt Rutherford and his crew gather scientific data for NASA in the Arctic Circle. Every year, they spend several months in the north of Greenland, braving tempestuous weather, sub-zero temperatures and the possibility of a polar bear attack. Added to this, they tackle the logistical problems associated with working in some of the most remote territory on Earth while also struggling to keep their heads above water financially.
